How Does CoolGlide XEO Work?
CoolGlide XEO combines two types of laser technologies: pulsed light technology for treating pigmented lesions and long-pulsed technology called Nd: YAG. This combination requires less "fluence" (this is a combination of many factors within laser treatments) which means there is less discomfort for the patient.
CoolGlide XEO treats the lower layers of the epidermis, targeting the microvasculature (the smallest vessels, such as capillaries) to improve skin tone and encouraging collagen production to improve skin smoothness and firmness.
What Does CoolGlide XEO Treat?
CoolGlide XEO treats rosacea, pigmented lesions, fine lines, unwanted hair, facial and leg veins, and large pores. Treatments consist of a series of procedures spread out over several weeks. All skin colors and types can use CoolGlide XEO.
What Are CoolGlide XEO Treatments Like?
CoolGlide XEO treatments are quick, have minimum discomfort and allow you to return to your normal life immediately. Unlike other treatments there is no need to apply gels or topical anesthetic. During the treatment, it will initially feel cool as the XEO handpiece is placed on the skin. When the light pulses a brief, mild pinching sensation occurs. Treatment time depends on the size of the area treated.
Does It Hurt and What Can Go Wrong?
CoolGlide XEO treatments do not harm the top layers of the skin, which minimizes risks. The treatment does not require topical anesthetic and discomfort is low. Most people report a mild pinching sensation when the light is pulsed with the hand piece held against the skin. In some cases, some bruising, skin irritation or swelling may occur.
What should I expect from CoolGlide XEO Treatment?
Results will vary depending on the condition of a person's skin pretreatment and the number of treatments. Because the treatment is non-ablative, results will be more subtle than skin peels, but skin will be smoother, treated hair diminished and skin tone will be improved.
