How Does Cynergy Work?

Cynergy treatments combine two types of laser technology: pulse-dye laser to treat pigmented lesions and high-powered Nd:YAG light to target skin irregularities and small blood vessels deeper in the skin. The sequential laser wavelength treatments team up to help improve outcomes by targeting both surface and epidermal irregularities.

What Does Cynergy Treat?

The Cynergy laser treats birthmarks, rosacea, pigmented lesions, facial and leg veins. It also can be used for laser hair removal. Our Los Angeles patients generally need a series of procedures spread out over several weeks for maximum improvement.

What Are Cynergy Treatments Like?

These treatments are quick, cause minimal discomfort and allow you to return to your normal activities immediately. During the treatment, Cynergy's Multiplex handpiece is moved across your skin, sending targeted laser light to the treatment area. The treatment can be customized based on your unique needs—one laser mix for small spider veins, another for areas of lighter pigmentation, and yet another for dark and stubborn birthmarks. When the light pulses, a brief pinching sensation generally occurs. Because the treatment is customized to your needs, treatment time will vary.

Does It Hurt and What Can Go Wrong?

Cynergy is safe for all skin colors and types. At Marina Plastic Surgery in Los Angeles, laser skin treatments using Cynergy do not harm the outermost layers of the skin, causing little discomfort. Some patients experience no pain, while others report a mild sting when the laser light pulses against the skin. If you experience discomfort, topical anesthesia can be provided.
